Contaminated drinking water in Scarsdale...

Once again, we received our water bill and with it, information that our water is not safe to drink.

Only in Scarsdale, in the same envelope we received news that our water rate was going up, and adding insult to the injury that our water remained contaminated ! Isn't that great ?...

Hopefully by 2018 we will have safe water.

This directly from the letter enclosed:

The January 24, February 14 and March 7, 2017 results indicate minor presence of giardia, less than 0.06 cysts/liter.

The water you have received from WCWD#1 is in violation of the Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule and, therefore, we are required to include the following statement in this notice:
*Inadequately treated water may contain disease-causing organisms. These organisms include bacteria, viruses, and parasites which can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and associated headaches.*

Why did the County fail to address this ? I think the County should reimburse us for the drinking water we have to buy ( to the tune of $100 per month for a household of 2 )  instead of giving us rain barrels to collect water...

We are supposed to have the best tasting water and now, we can't drink it because it is contaminated !

Too bad.
