Well, I had seen or thought I had seen one years before in the semi-darkness of the night, but this one was in plain daylight at about 5:30 a.m. this morning in and around Lockwood Road in Scarsdale.
Unfortunately it had a little brownish animal, with dangling feet in his mouth. I hate to think, but it could well have been a rabbit. The fox was happily sauntering, triumphant as it were with its catch and thoughts of a meal to be savored soon.
Just because we do not see it, does not mean it is not there.
We have wild-life that call this place their home too. Respect for them should be utmost. They enrich our lives in ways not to be imagined. At least, they certainly enrich mine.
To the red fox and the wild rabbits, as well as the squirrels !
